Did you know that many people had libraries brought to them, instead of them going to the library?  Back in the day, books entered communities on horseback (read about the Pack Horse Librarians), book mobiles, and now, Little Free Libraries can be found in unexpected spaces. Check out this one! Or search for images, if you feel like creating one yourself.

Nowadays, we bring the library to you virtually. So much information and reading pleasure at your fingertips! 

Archive.org. The internet archive is a "non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites and more. It also features the WayBack Machine, to find past websites. Cartoons, old snippets of drive though trailers, just about anything you can imagine!

Big Timber is a collection from various publishers. The ebooks are excellent quality, many non fiction offerings, sorted by grade, subjects, and has activities as well. One book may show as a representative slice, so to speak, but just click on view more titles to see more of the collection.

Epic is offering free accounts during school closure. This link will give teachers information on how to get access to a free Epic account for their students.

Jamestown PhilomenianLibrary is still open for you to download ebooks, magazines, audiobooks, films, and more!

Project Gutenberg is a free online library of books that are in the public domain, that is, their copyrights have expired. Many classics can be found here, so you can set up a virtual class set. Grimms Fairy Tales, anybody?


Teachers and students don't forget we have an ebook collection. Access it with your library barcode, and log in. Remember, jam on top + your library barcode (no spaces) and the password is jam.  In the box below, change Material Type from book to ebook (see below). Hit the keyword button and you're in!
